Weird Conversation

Heard from the back seat of the car:
Lily: Hey Sophie, look at me.
Sophie: I can’t, I’m bust right now.
Lily: You’re not busy!
Sophie: Yes I am- I’m picking my nose!
Lily: hahahahahahah. . .
A few moments later. . .
Sophie: Mommy, mommy! Guess what? I don’t eat my boogers any more- I just flick them!
Me: speechless
Comedy Minute
(the last bit got cut off- here it is below)
Heart to Heart Talk with Lily (she's growing up- a little bit!)
Lily: mommy, I’m not the best big sister:(
Me: Why not? What do you mean?
Lily: Sometimes I step on Sophie’s blanket when she’s walking and sometimes I sneak up on her and I steal it- hehe- but I always give it back!
-As an aside, this was not news to me
Me: Well, why do you do that if you know it makes Sophie upset?
Lily: Sometimes I’m having so much fun and I just can’t stop myself. Sorry- I’m not going to do that anymore!
Well, guess what came next: A prayer for self control. We prayed fervently-at least I did:)
Little Known Fact
After Lily had just turned 2 we created a little night time ritual that now she and Sophie both partake in. Every night when I leave the girls room I call out, “I love you to pieces!” and the response I receive from Lily (and now Sophie too) is, “I love you to shapes!” It never gets old:)
