The other day Lily got it in her head that she wanted to make dough. Well, I thought no harm in that, so I gave her a bowl with some flour in it and let her add water and stir until she had formed a ball of dough. She had a great time with that dough. It kept her busy for quite some time- about 20 minutes. Then she decided she wanted to make cookies to which I explained that this would not make cookies and would not taste good. Unfortunately, this fell on deaf ears, so I finally gave in and let her make cookies. I let her sprinkle a bit of sugar on top, form cookies on a baking sheet and then, true to my word, we baked them. As if that was not enough she wanted to decorate them. After scouring the cabinets all I could find was some gel food coloring (supposed to be added to icing, not be used on its own, so obviously the color is very concentrated) and let her decorate away- I figured, oh well, she'll never really eat them anyway. . .
not only did she eat them, but she absolutely loved them- every last hard rock was eventually consumed by this little lady. Well, at least until I threw them away hoping she'd forget about them:) Luckily, her teeth are not permanently stained. She sure keeps life interesting!
I am at a Starbucks laughing out loud!!!!!!!!!!!!
