Lily and I have been talking a lot about the start of her preschool this past week (eg- how we say please and thank, never grab from our friends, always raise our hand when we have a question, and of course the fact that mommy will be leaving to go to work). This has sparked some new questions from Lily.
Lily's most recent thought about this was, "are you going to work at rubina's house?"
I responded, "No, I am a physical therapist. I work at different schools with kids who have problems with their bodies and many have a hard time walking or even a hard time sitting up by themselves. So, I help kids learn how to walk or how to use a wheelchair and things this this."
"Oh- When I get bigger I'm going to be a pisical terapist too!- I'm good at doing that, right mommy?"
"Well, I'm sure that if you still want to be one when you get bigger you'll be a very good one"
pause - Lily looked like she was deep in thought
"Mommy, why do their bodies not work?", she asked with a very puzzled look on her face.
"Well. . . many of them have boo boo's in their brains and this makes it hard for their bodies to work right." (not sure if this was the best way to explain it, but the first thing that came to mind)
another pause
Then Lily said, "I'm going to pisical terapist to Sophie- she doesn't walk very well!"
"Oh really. . ."
Then came the part that really cracked me up: "Mommy, does Sophie have a boo boo in her brain?" :)
"No, I said, "she is still little and just learned how to walk, so she just needs more practice and to get bigger and then she'll walk just fine."
Then Lily got this little gleam in her eye and said, "yes she does, Sophie's got a boo boo in her brain!- hahahahahha!"
Poor Sophie- I'm afraid I see much more of this in her future;)
I am cracking up!!!!!!!!!! I love the way Lily's mind works . . . we big sisters must stick together:)
