Preschool- week 2

Here is a brief overview of some of the activities Lily enjoyed during her second week of preschool:

Activities:

She created 2 books:

Lily's favorite activities were reportedly playing with playdough in the kitchen, playing outside at recess time, and getting to use a purple glue stick:)

Behavior:

Each day, Lily also reported very excitedly that she didn't grab and she shared. Way to go, Lily- I hope! Although. the teacher did call and say that Lily is doing great- listening, following directions, raising her hand, and playing nicely. So, maybe Lily's appraisal of herself is accurate- I just wish she would carry this wonderful behavior over to home when she is playing with Sophie!

Classmates:

She is beginning to talk about some of her classmates. This is what I've gleamed: Olivia has a new baby sister, Maia has pretty shoes, and Devon doesn't listen and had to sit in the thinking corner more than once I think- poor kid.

Singing:

She learned a few new songs:
Jesus loves me was the first song she learned. She's got the first verse down, but as for the second verse, your guess is as good as mine:)

She also says the pledge of allegiance and then sings a patriotic song after saying the pledge each day. However, when I asked her what song she sang after the pledge she replied, It sounds like "apatrician to me!" Hmmm- I scratched my head on that one for a few days until I finally asked her teacher and learned that it was "My country tis of thee". Oh now that makes sense- not! :)

Lunch:

I've packed her lunch everyday except for Friday when she got to eat Dominoe's pizza for lunch. This made her very happy! Next week she gets to have a mcdonald's happy meal in honor of classmate Tai's birthday. This will make her even happier!

Lily's school report:

Finally, I'll conclude with a discussion of what Lily has learned so far at preschool in her own words:

As we were driving home on Thursday Lily had a lot of new knowledge to impart (the following is only an excerpt to keep this post from getting too long!). She started her little report, which was a blur of words so fast that only a mother could understand some of them with, "Mommy we pushed our chairs in and were really careful and then the fire sound said bram, bram, bram! and that's how you don't get burned!"
"and mommy, Adam and Eve ate an apple from the tree, but they weren't apposed to and then God said, "why did you do that?" and they had to go away." "Mommy they can just eat an apple from a different tree." "Mommy, did they have to build a new house?"
"I suppose so."
"Mommy, did it have a kitchen?"
"Um, probably." . . . :)
