Sophie is 18 months!

My 18 month old little girl!



Here she is less than a year ago- my 7 month old little baby!


Can't believe my little one is getting so big, so fast! Here is a little update of my year and a halfer!

Words:
Says too many to count and is really starting to combine words- she has quite a few two word statements. Her most recent phase consists of saying bye bye to everything as we're leaving the condo (ie- bye bye horsee. bye bye door. bye bye steps. etc) Here are a few other examples:

uh oh! appened! (uh oh! what happened!)- this one's my favorite

baby, where?

theretis! (there it is!)

one more! (usually speaking about food of course!)

heredo (here you go)

Favorite food:
Its hard to pinpoint just one because she seems to take after her big sister, if you know what I mean:) She actually loves all vegetables (broccoli and tomatoes seem to be her favs). In terms of fruit, strawberries are definitely number 1- If I let her, she could probably eat an entire package! Of course, meats, cheese and noodles/rice are well liked too, but if I had to choose the item that makes her the most happy it would be poculculs(popsicles)!


Motor skills:
Getting harder and harder to keep up with her- not quite running in the true sense of the word (2 feet leaving the ground at once), but pretty darn close! Also, she can walk up and down steps without help- most of the time -and can go down some slides all by herself like a big kid, which makes her very happy! Finally, her own personal goal is to be able to jump. It is adorable to watch her attempt to jump because she puts such earnest effort into it!


Favorite activity:
Reading books while sitting in my lap! She could do this all day long! This can get sort of tedious for mama, but I just can't say no to my little bookworm walking towards me with yet another book saying "pease, pease!". Her new favorite book is 10 little caterpillars and she absolutely loves to count!- Very different from Lily who had much more of an afinity towards letters than numbers at Sophie's age. A close second favorite activity is basically doing anything that Lily is doing, much to Lily's annoyance!
