One fun and free activity that Lily and Sophie have enjoyed twice this summer so far is story time at the library. We saw a puppet show by K.D. puppets at the Sherwood library last week and today we went to the Tyson's Pimmet library for "Fun with ABC time". The theme letter of the day was the letter C. The story leader read a few few books with lots of items with the letter C included and guided the kids through some interactive songs and activities. Lily really enjoyed herself; although, for some reason she felt the need to point out and/or re-explain everything to the little boy and his mom who were sitting beside us. A little embarassing because I couldn't get her to stop- she just felt compelled to impart her knowledge to them:) Although Sophie was not too interested unless a song was being sung, she thoroughly enjoyed observing all the kids and toddlers. In fact, she was very bold today towards the end: walked up to other kids, stood right in front of them, and stared at them as they ate their snacks- even saying please very nicely! Needless to say I'm never too sad when these things end, but glad they both enjoyed themselves. I forgot to take my camera to the library, but here are Lily and Sophie enjoying the activity bag (dumped out all over the floor) when we got home, which was chock full of items beginning with the letter C!

Lily in her Crown and Crepe paper belt!

Sophie pouring some tea for herself into a paper Cup. Oops- I think she missed!
Later after naps Lily and Sophie(with a little help from mom) created their own masterpieces using the Coffee filters also found in the take home bag. It was so easy that Lily even amazed herself- we just colored the coffee filters with magic markers and then sprayed on some water and watched as the colors blended into beautiful new creations!
