Last weekend Will surprised us with a planter, complete with soil, flowers, shovel and a watering can. Lily was so excited to plant her first real flowers, which we did together this week. It was a bit messy (soil was flying everywhere as Lily dug the holes:)), but she had a blast! When we were finally finished planting, Lily got to do her favorite part- water them! All in all, it was a long, messy, and fun experience until disaster struck a half hour later when we were eating lunch- "What was that noise, Mama?" Lily asked. I'll let you see for yourself:

Yep, down they crashed to the first floor
condo's patio- glad no one was standing there! Apparently the weight of the planter was too much for the hanger and it bent down, allowing the planter to slide right off. After another 40 minutes of gathering every last bit of salvageable soil and replanting the flowers (and then cleaning the cement off), we were back in business. The planter is now sitting safely on the FLOOR of the balcony. Amazingly, only one of the plants did not survive the fall:)
I hate to laugh, but it is kind of funny:(
